Mamanuca Archipelago
Après 3 jours à terre, c’est enfin l’heure de remettre la bateau à l’eau. Heureusement, Charlotte réussi à nous dégoter ce qui doit être le dernier emplacement disponible à l’eau dans la Marina. Mais on ne peut rester que 3 jours car un autre bateau va bientôt occuper la place.
Quoi qu’il en soit, il semble bien que le gouvernail soit réparé. L’eau ne rentre plus !! Yey ! Mais il reste encore quelques travaux à terminer en vitesse comme le support du pilote automatique mais surtout le réservoir de diesel.
Au matin du 3ème jour, on sent qu’on est plus trop les bienvenus avec les aller-retour incessants des employés de la Marina qui attendent qu’on parte. Mais sans réservoir à diesel, on est cloué sur place. Heureusement, celui-ci arrive vers midi et on l’installe rapidement. On peut enfin quitter les lieux après un dernier détour à la pompe à diesel.
Après une dernière nuit ancrés devant le port, nous mettons en route pour l’archipel des Mamanuca et sa fameuse Musket Cove déjà bondée à notre arrivée pour une première nuit dans la région. Là, on découvre pour la première fois la beauté des récifs fijiens en allant plonger au tuba juste à côté du bateau.
On en profite aussi pour aller réfléchir à la suite de notre trajet autour d’un verre à la mini Marina du coin. Va y en avoir des choses à voir…
After 3 days on land, it’s finally time to put the boat back in the water. Fortunately, Charlotte managed to find us what must be the last available spot in the water in the Marina. But we can only stay 3 days because another boat will soon occupy the place.
Anyway, it looks like the rudder is repaired. The water doesn’t come in anymore!! Yey! But there are still some works to be completed quickly such as the autopilot support but especially the diesel tank.
On the morning of the 3rd day, we feel that we are no longer very welcome with the incessant comings and goings of Marina employees waiting for us to leave. But without a diesel tank, we are stuck in place. Fortunately, it arrives around noon and we install it quickly. We can finally leave the port after a final detour to the diesel pump.
After one last night anchored in front of the port, we set off for the Mamanuca archipelago and its famous Musket Cove, already crowded when we arrive for our first night in the region. There, we discover for the first time the beauty of the Fijian reefs by going snorkeling right next to the boat.
We also take the opportunity to think and plan the rest of our journey in Fiji over a drink at the local mini Marina. There will be a lot of things to see…
